Larry Bell

Regional Vice President, Horizon Recuperative Care

Larry Bell is a dedicated healthcare professional with  over 23 years of experience in various healthcare environments, He has a proven track record of advocating for vulnerable populations and improving patient care.

Larry briefly pursued professional basketball abroad, traveling to countries such as Brazil, New Zealand, Australia and Mexico. This unique experience exposed him to low-income mental health issues and homelessness on a global scale, enriching his understanding of cultural inequities and the challenges faced by marginalized communities.

 He began his career as a case manager at the Weingart Center on Skid Row, where he supported homeless individuals in regaining stability in their lives. He then spent 17 years as a case manager in a Subacute Care Center for Providence, focusing on patients transitioning from low-income hospitals and on life support. During this time, Larry developed innovative programs to assist patients with mental health disabilities in their recovery journeys. Larry expanded his skill set in the nursing home sector, serving as both a social worker and a business development manager.

Larry is currently the Provider Relations Regional Manager and Director at Horizon Recuperative Care Centers, overseeing operations in the  Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Gabriel Valley regions. In this role, he builds essential relationships with hospitals, case managers, and health plans to ensure comprehensive care for people experiencing homelessness. Larry’s global perspective and commitment to community service drive his dedication to making a positive impact in every community he serves.

Larry has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
