Jennifer Sudarsky, MD
County Commissioner, Los Angeles County Hospitals and Healthcare Delivery Commission
After working in private practice in Santa Monica, California, for over 20 years and working with numerous international medical expeditions, in 2016, Dr. Jennifer Sudarsky returned to her original passion of working with People Experiencing Homelessness.
Dr. Sudarsky is a practicing physician and medical advisor to Street Medicine, Respite and Recuperative Care teams in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. She also serves as Commissioner to the Los Angeles County Hospitals and Healthcare Commission and Co-Chair of Senator Adam Schiff’s US Senate’s Advisory Committee on Affordable Housing and Homelessness. She served as Medical Director for Los Angeles County’s Department of Health Services COVID-19 Isolation and Quarantine Program, which was an emergency sheltering program that helped to decompress Los Angeles County’s public and private hospitals and protect vulnerable community members from unsafe conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic from March 2020-June 2022. The sheltering initiative served over 13,000 people, preventing infection in as many as 65,000 high-risk individuals.
Dr. Sudarsky graduated from Brown Medical School in 1997 and received a Physician Leadership Certification from Stanford University in 2022. She is a board-certified Family Medicine specialist who supports our Nation’s most vulnerable populations by working to improve equal access to quality affordable housing and healthcare by advocating for systems and policy modernization.
