George W. Greene, Esq.
President/CEO, Hospital Association of Southern California
George W. Greene has served as President and CEO of the Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC) since 2017. During his tenure, the association has significantly expanded its community outreach initiatives and strengthened health care coordination across the region. Greene has also championed local advocacy efforts on behalf of over 170 Southern California hospitals.
Among his notable accomplishments, Greene launched Communities Lifting Communities (CLC), a nonprofit charitable affiliate focused on driving systemic change through a collective impact model involving hospitals, health systems, and local health care stakeholders. Under his leadership, existing HASC affiliates and initiatives such as the ReddiNet® emergency communications system, the National Health Foundation, and the Endorsed Business Partner program have flourished and grown.
Before joining HASC, Greene served as President and CEO of the Healthcare Association of Hawaii from 2009. Prior to that, he was Regional Executive for the American Hospital Association, representing California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Alaska, and Hawaii. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Advocacy, Community, and Multicultural Affairs for Sharp HealthCare in San Diego.
Greene began his professional journey in Washington, D.C., as Counsel to Rep. Bob Inglis of South Carolina, his hometown congressional representative. He later worked for the National Association of Home Builders and served in the office of San Diego Mayor Susan Golding.
Greene holds a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Tennessee and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Clemson University in South Carolina.
